For the band members, I wanted someone who would appeal to the audience who responded to my survey of the age 18-24. Consequently, I am choosing a friend of mine, Rufus Mitchell to play the lead singer. While young and being aged only 18, he looks old enough to also appeal to a slightly older generation of students in their early 20s.

Many psychedelic rock/rock artists also have long hair. This is suggested by artists such as 'The Olivia Tremor Control', 'Tame Impala', 'Quasi' and David Bowie.

To break this convention, I have chosen a person with short hair.

For the guitarist, I was  directly influenced by Keith Richards, the guitarist of the Rolling Stones. Both styles of clothing are very similar, as my friend Johnny Turner also wears colourful clothing with a bandana. His age is also 18, although, he looks younger than the lead singer, his slightly eccentric/pyschedelic style should draw the target audience.

While my drummer is 17, he looks of a similar age to the other band members. He was mainly chosen because of his talent. I personally know him as someone who can play many different instruments including the drums which appear to be his speciality. Unlike my other band members, I wanted someone who could actually play the instrument they are shown playing in the music video. The reason for this is it is very easy to link the visuals of drums being played with the drums audio. I therefore wanted to use someone who could actually recreate the drums of 'No Growing'.

who have a very diverse group of members. For instance, one of the most popular examples is Metronomy, with a very unconventional group including a female drummer and black guitarist.

My drummer's  ethnicity is another feature which seems to reference a lot of indie rock bands today
